The Star Casino is taking a Singaporean gambling mogul to court over a $43million debt he allegedly racked up in seven days in one of the world's biggest-ever gambling debt recovery cases.
Wong Yew Choy is being sued by Star Gold Coast in Queensland after allegedly failing to settle his dues after a costly week playing cards.

The 56-year-old, who calls himself 'Dr Wong', was seduced to the casino by glamorous VIP marketing executive Teazel Yaw under the promise of visiting its VIP gaming rooms.
Dr Wong arrived on July 26 via the venue's private jet, before being gifted a stay in the penthouse with his entourage and $100,000 of 'lucky money'.
He handed over a blank check in exchange for $40million in gambling chips, which he promptly lost playing the popular card game baccarat.
Two employees at Sydney's Star Casino have been sacked, including one for placing bets on a smartphone gambling app while on shift. The female gaming attendant - who had worked at the casino for 11 years - was sacked after Star accused her of placing 28 bets on the app while on shift. The Singaporean High Court heard he was a 'high valued and respected patron of casinos around the world' and was frequently given incentives to play.
