NKDC Announcement
Friday, April 3rd, 2020
To our valued guests,
As members of the North Kitsap community, we take the COVID-19 crisis seriously, and have implemented all the necessary steps to ensure the health and safety of our guests, team members and community.
This included the temporary closure of The Point Casino & Hotel on March 18, 2020. While the casino is not considered an “essential business”, it is a critical revenue source for the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe, and supports the provision of important services to their tribal community. The tribe is committed to the health and welfare of the local community.
To support Governor Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” extension on April 2 through May 4, 2020, we are extending our temporary closure through the same period and will provide updates regularly.
The impact to all our businesses is significant, but the extended closure applies only to the casino and hotel. The Gliding Eagle Market remains open as an essential tribal service and fuel sales will continue to be available at both stations.
During these challenging times, we are doing our part and look forward to reopening the casino and hotel soon.

Update: 3/12/2020
To our Valued Guests –
The Point Casino and Hotel management team has been, and will remain in close communication with state and local health officials, and is taking proactive steps to observe the Governors’ most recent preventive measures to protect local communities from the spread of COVID-19.
Common sense, health professionals, and an abundance of caution guide us to observe the following measures:
- Postpone shows or limit attendance for concert events
- Encourage “Social Distancing” (maintaining personal space of about six feet)
- Eliminating buffet service
We are also taking care to make sure that our employees are healthy, and have asked them to respectfully watch for customers who appear to be sick. We ask that you please try not to be offended if you are displaying symptoms and are asked politely to leave. There are signs posted throughout the property that outline these measures.
If we discover that there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 that has had contact here, we have a response plan in place and will implement it in coordination with local public health authorities.
We are doing everything we can to make your experience here enjoyable, and simply ask that you follow current health professional’s advice:
- If you’re sick or not feeling well, please stay home
- Maintain “Social Distancing”
- Wash or sanitize your hands frequently (there are sanitizing stations throughout the property)
- Use coughing and sneezing etiquette by properly covering up
Thank you.
